Bank of China Employees Get Education on NIK-NPWP Integration

Permanent Establishments and Expatriates Tax Office (KPP Badan dan Orang Asing) fulfilled the invitation of Bank of China (BoC) to educate the integration of National Identity Number (NIK) and Personal Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP OP) at Tamara Center Jl. Jenderal Sudirman Kav. 24, BoC Head Office, South Jakarta (Senin, 16/10). Education on integration of NIK and NPWP was attended by around 110 BoC employees in hybrid. All employees simultaneously validated the NIK-NPWP.

As an overview, Bank of China offers comprehensive banking services for domestic and international business transactions. BoC is a bank wholly owned by Chinese Government.

BoC Compliance Director, Olivia Lea Tutuarima, revealed that the validation of NIK as NPWP is an obligation of every personal taxpayer. It will also facilitate customers later when they become bank customers.

Arief Budi Nugroho, Associate Expert Tax Counselor of KPP Badora, appreciated the invitation from BoC and explained that the activity of integration of NIK and NPWP is a national program that will be implemented nationally in early 2024, so it is expected that all registered personal taxpayers have validated NIK.

"Everyone who has an NPWP is obliged to validate NIK so that all public services including banking administration that uses NIK as a single identity can run smoothly," explained Arief Budi.

The material on the implementation of NIK validation as NPWP and reporting of Annual Tax Return for Individuals was presented by KPP Badora Junior Expert Tax Counselor Slamet Wahyudi and First Expert Tax Counselor Teddy Haryadi. They also guided all employees to validate NIK as NPWP.

After the presentation was completed, the moderator opened a question and answer session which was immediately utilized by the participants to ask various questions including participants from Medan branch via online.

In order to supervise the fulfillment of tax obligations and provide the latest information related to tax services, the Head of Supervision Section III Ainur Rasyid and BoC Account Representative (AR) Agus Fredy Muthi'ul Wahab were also present. "If there are problems related to tax supervision and services, you can contact the appointed BoC AR," explained Ainur.

This event was also attended by Juliaty Lim as BoC FMD Head, Novita Wulandari as BoC Risk Management Head, and Kusmiyadi as BoC Compliance Staff. Juliaty Lim appealed to all employees to immediately validate NIK as NPWP.
