Dozens of participants attended the event to learn about revised policies and guidelines for foreign missions in Indonesia, gathering at the tax clinic of the Permanent Establishments and Expatriates Tax Office for Foreign Entities and Individuals at Double Tree by Hilton Jakarta, Bintaro Jaya, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang (Wednesday, August 13).
“We sent two staff members there as a sign of our full support for our key stakeholders, such as the Directorate General of Protocol and Consular Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign government representatives, and international organizations,” said Natalius, Head of the Permanent Establishments and Expatriates Tax Office.
Natalius hopes that this activity will provide a more comprehensive understanding of tax rights and obligations, while strengthening good cooperative relations between Permanent Establishments and Expatriates Tax Office and all foreign representatives and international organizations in Indonesia. “Going forward, we will continue to be present and ready to provide the best service consistently,” added Natalius.
Two staff members from the Permanent Establishments and Expatriates Tax Office, namely Tax Counselor Prasida Nurul Husna and Officer Pradita Maharani, provided tax clinic services from 11:00 AM until late afternoon.
“We provide tax consulting services regarding registration and data changes for foreign representatives and international organizations, as well as consulting on tax exemption certificates and Value Added Tax refunds,” said Prasida.
Prasida explained that the Directorate of Diplomatic Facilities of the Directorate General of Protocol and Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosted this socialization event. Directorate of Diplomatic Facilities has published the first and second editions of the handbook since 2023 and 2024. “An update of the information in the handbook is needed, which contains information related to protocol and consular services required by foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations. This includes tax-related matters,” added Prasida.
“We were asked to support the organization of this event with a focal point as a provider of relevant and solution-oriented information regarding questions or challenges related to tax identification number registration services, exemption facilities, and refunds frequently requested by foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations,” said Pradita. “Both institutions are not subject to taxation, but their tax administration is registered at the Permanent Establishments and Expatriates Tax Office,” she added.
