A delegation from the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea (NTS) paid an official visit to the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) Headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday, April 6. NTS, is the tax authority under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Republic of Korea.
The NTS delegation, led by the Director of the Offshore Information Division, Jin Woo Kim, and accompanied by Kwon Oh Heung from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Jakarta, was warmly welcomed by the Director of International Taxation, Mekar Satria Utama, and his team in the International Meeting Room at the DGT Headquarters.
In his opening remarks, Mekar expressed the DGT's delight in fostering strong cooperation and extending a personal welcome to the NTS delegation. Jin Woo Kim further stated that the purpose of their visit was to submit the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation in tax matters, which has already been signed by the Commissioner of NTS and will also be signed by the Director General of Taxes.
During the meeting, the DGT and the NTS engaged in substantive discussions regarding exchange of information, with Sae On Han, the General Manager of the Offshore Information Division, serving as the resource person. In addition, Jin Woo Kim also conveyed a plaque of appreciation from NTS to acknowledge the invaluable support of the Director of International Taxation in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Indonesia and Korea. This acknowledgement was presented in honor of the 57th Taxpayer's Day celebration.
Head of the Subdirectorate of International Taxation Information Exchange, Sanityas Jukti Prawatyani, expressed profound appreciation for the implementation of tax information exchange thus far, which has proven to be beneficial for both the DGT and the NTS.
The visit, lasting for two hours, concluded with a formal photo session and the exchange of commemorative gifts between the esteemed delegations of the DGT and the NTS.
